What
is home?
All my life, I’ve looked for a place in this world that felt like a home. Yes, there are memories tied to the place I grew up. The mountain that cradled me as I explored forests. The bedroom that helped foster my creative daydreams. A place that held memories of what could feel like home forever and always, but was eventually taken away.
So here I am asking, “What is Home?”
A NOTION MADE REAL
Home isn’t just a place to lay your head. It’s experiences. It’s relationships with those you can lean on. Home is a word that doesn’t need to be defined by four walls.
I’ve been creating custom art surfaces for the last few years to connect with my series further. Before, each Flora I painted was “trapped” on the white background of a canvas. During this phase, I dubbed them illuminated scenes.
Now, with my ability to create panels from wood, they’ve been freed from the confines and can more freely occupy any space.
